Mini shampoos and body lotions, the perks of staying in a hotel, right?
Well, in Seoul, one hotel is swapping scented hand soaps with rewards, such as free drinks for not over-using the hotel’s amenities.
Hotel Cappuccino has initiated a shared value scheme that focuses on ethical consumption.
All 114 rooms have an Earn & Giveaway Box, filled with complementary hotel stuff. Each comes with a label asking ‘Do you really need me?’
The hope is that you rethink that extra fluffy towel and excessive use of conditioner, and all the stuff you don’t use is donated to charity.
Guests can also donate to developmental aid organisation, water.org, just by ordering from the Angel Menu, available at the hotel’s restaurant, cafe and bar.
The hotel even has a partnership with local organisation, OTCAN, where they donate any unwanted clothes left over by guests. Great if you’re worried about going over your luggage allowance.
